All in One, Monochrome Digital, & Digital Color - What to Know About Your Copier Type.jpg

When you’re considering a copier for your business, you’ll quickly realize there are different types of copiers for different needs. If you know nothing about business copiers (and why would you? That’s what we’re here for!), we don’t want you to get duped into picking a type that doesn’t fit your requirements.

Before you make a final decision and purchase a machine, here are a few things to know about different copier types:

  1. All-in-One (AIO)

All in one copiers are perfect solutions for certain applications. Known for being smaller, “desktop versions”, all-in-one copiers can be multifunctional. Businesses with high copier demands, the all-in-one copier usually isn’t the best choice. For small businesses or home offices, however, these types of copiers are perfect. The average print speed is 19-30 ppm.

  1. Monochrome Digital

Monochrome digital copiers are better known as black and white copiers, commonly the least expensive copier types on the market. With this copier, you’re able to save on ink cartridges and have a straightforward copying, faxing, and scanning experience. The average print speed is 30-114 ppm.

  1. Digital Color

Digital color copiers produce high-resolution copies of various materials. Generally, these types of printers are used to create brochures, pamphlets, and presentations. If you’re in need of a high quality, distribution-ready print job, digital color copiers are the way to go. Resolution ranges from 600x600 dpi to 2400x600 dpi and the average print speed is 40-90 ppm.

  1. Multifunctional Copier (MFP)

Multifunctional copiers are the most popular copier type for businesses of all sizes. These copiers bring together four different machines –  a printer, scanner, copier, and fax. With these combined into one device, MFPs are convenient and save you space; instead of having to find space for four things you only need to find space for one. Plus, in the long run, your company will save more money with only one machine to manage and service.
